Vlog #5
Written By Tommy Quick
Itβs getting closer and closer!
One door closes another door opens.
Thank you @ambulancevic for your ongoing support, we are truly grateful for the past five+ years!
For the past month I’ve been reflecting on what we’ve just achieved as a TEAM. Now what’s next?
Cooking up stupid ideas is my middle name!
I /we will be back, maybe to run an event much closer to home so as to make it easier for you to participate. Stay tuned to find out what we land on.

Ps accessibility needs a little bit of work in Hobbiton..
First of all I’ve got to say thank you, thank you for everything! These journeys wouldn’t have been made possible without your help.
So what a day. We started riding at some ungodly hour, with Lisa the CEO of the @strokefdn @jobriskey our local federal MP who helped us facilitate this, @jodie4dunkley @markdreyfusmp David, Heath, Gus and Rob up to parliament!!
After a Win news interview with Lisa we were all escorted into the meeting room where I shared my story about what we’ve done collectively, the journeys and the memories.
And from there it was time for a chat/yarn about childhood stroke after all this week is childhood stroke awareness week!
I felt truly honoured for the time the MPs gave myself and the crew aka Team Tom and Lisa, Jacqui and Heidi from the Stroke Foundation.
Also I’d like to thank Jo and her team, Conner and Georgie for their facilitation and organisation skills!
Here’s a few pictures to have a browse through.
After that we had a twenty minute chat with @markbutlermp highlighting that childhood stroke needs to be put on the agenda! Also chatted about question time and a few other things which was super interesting.
Then it was in for the theatrical question time where I got mentioned first by Jo and then by the speaker of the house, crazy!! LOL when I get the footage you’ll be able to see how my face was (I felt like) a squashed marshmallow from the emotions that I was feeling as there where 100+ MPs staring at me!
This is a campaign for childhood stroke and to be recognised for what we’ve done, is a privilege.
I say we because I couldn’t have done this alone.
Special thanks to Mum and Dad, DJ, Mark, Heath, Rob and Robyn and The 4 Points community, thank you!
It’s all happening on Tuesday, The 4 Points and the @strokefdn will have a chat to the pollies around childhood stroke, can’t wait!
Thanks the Pink Galas for riding with us until the grave, it was an absolute pleasure having a yarn!

Just a few snaps of the day…. I’m absolutely cooked, 1118m of elevation and constant headwind it took 7 hours total time for 74kms, a long day.
It was pretty cool however when we arrived to get a welcome party by Jasmin the mayor of Yass and Adrian the councillor, so that made it that much better and rewarding!
Sound on when you get to the video.
One more day 80kms+ into Canberra, let’s do this πͺπΌ
