Past, present and what's ahead.
The quick info:
Getting the trike sorted has been the most important aspect, even though it has left me on a shorter training timeline. Knowing that the trike is fully functional gives me belief and hope. Plus, the first 2 or 3 days of the Howlong to Canberra ride (22nd-1st of March) are relatively flat so WE can get a few good warm ups in before the serious hills start.
The second point is:
We are working towards getting each shire involved either/or by riding, having dinners and getting us up on the socials as we pass through their local area. A few are in but, we’ve got to keep you guessing as to what's going to happen.
On the 18th of February we will be riding up to the Victorian State parliament to kickstart the official Campaign. This will really address our major aim, more funding for Childhood Stroke Research. I’m not sure if we want to do this? Thoughts? If you would like to ride with us to the Victorian Parliament House simply fill in the form on the 4 points and say ‘keen to ride to parliament house with you!’ and we will do the rest. We are very grateful to Minister Danny Pearson for facilitating this event.
On the 3rd of March we will be cycling into Federal Parliament (Canberra) and I will give a brief speech to various MPs again highlighting and emphasising the work is JUST beginning on Childhood Stroke research. This time our grateful thanks to Jo Briskey MP and her office for arranging this for us.
Other things:
We are creating content so you can share and spread it far and wide (it actually takes so much time on this!) so your help is important to get the words out and about. If you know anyone who’ll get behind us, get behind them and give them a soft nudge in the arse to get them to lean into the cause! We'd love you to support us in any way you can. Sponsorships, donations, riding with us or just general “you've got this” wishes!
That’s all that I can think of for now. There will be further news before this ride is done.
Cheers

Under 50 days!!
We are now under 50 days till we start the Howlong to Canberra ride so I thought I’d give you a bit of an update on where we are at!
First big news is we are getting another retired ambulance, it will be stripped out and ready to go, HOW FREAKIN COOL!! Thank you Ambulence Vic!!
Secondly we have created decals for the ride and vehicles. We are at the stage of proof reading and our friend Hoops will print them. Attach them to the vehicles and we're off…
Thirdly, we are in the process of attempting to contact the various political parties to chat about the need for research into Young Stroke, keep ya posted on it.
Fourthly, got some content coming out soon and it’ll be ramping up as we get closer. So hold on to your seats 😜
Fifthly, Anthony at Six Zero Six has just posted the location so if you're not sure where Howlong is, it’ll have us on the map on the4points.org site!!
What’s next you might ask?
Well there is still a lot to do and very little time. But the two main things are:
A) email all pollies and mayors and councillors enroute and
B) to start training to get some serious KILOMETRES under my belt…apart from that, yer easy as, right 💁🏼♂️
One last thing, I’m waiting to get the trike repaired as I shattered the derailleur, but should be all good by Thursday at the latest, thanks to 99 Bikes.
Stay tuned!
The 2 Points, Dates are set!
The countdown begins, the expectations are high, Christmas being just around the corner is one reason, but in my mind it's all about the next ride. And I want the buzz to happen!
My question to you is, are you a keen cyclist or a leisurely ride person? Either way, I reckon we’ve hit the right note on the balance between challenging but not overbearing. Also we are really invested in trying to promote inclusion through riding, so we welcome everyone who wants to take part in this our latest adventure. You can do as little or as much as you want!
Now you're interested, let's get down to the BIZ.
The starting date will be Sunday, the 22nd of February, 2026. Leaving from Howlong (40kms west of Albury/Wodonga) and landing in Canberra on Sunday, the 1st of March. This arrival leads right into Childhood Stroke Awareness week, which starts on Monday, the 2nd of March. Double the impact, I reckon!
The distance for the entire route is approximately 450 km over the 8 days. We have factored in a rest day in the middle. To see the layout of the route, click Join Journey.
Now you’re really interested, aren’t you?
Why don’t you become a part of this fantastic campaign!
The reason we are riding to Canberra is to call upon the Government to act on Childhood Stroke. There are so many unanswered questions for young stroke survivors, their families, friends, and wider communities.
For me, I’ve got to get down to the BIZ, and the other day I did. I got back on the trike after transitioning from my E-assist AZUB trike back onto a FULLY manual trike (same trike but we've removed the motor, etc.). Hard yakka, human-powered BABY! This is the first time that I’ve ridden a manual trike since before the crash back in November 2021. I’ve been taking the easy option, haven’t I! That little test ride was a real toughy, but I'm alive, aren’t I! I’ve got approximately 3 months to train….. I like leaving things late, don’t I?
As one of The Living End’s song titles states, ‘White Noise’, which means one constant volume, LOUD, and this is what we want!!!
I really appreciate your support.
Sometimes, well a lot of the time really, the road is long and can be lonely so having you riding beside me is a real blast and helps make the kms go so much faster.
There are other ways you can be part of this ‘White Noise’: A) Join and Ride, B) follow us on the Socials, C) Donate, D) buy the Merch
We wanted to let you all know the dates well before Christmas, so you can start preparing for the ride, right?
Have a lovely Christmas and New Year, stay safe, healthy and happy! Bring on 2026, WE ARE on a mission!
Cheers
Tommy and the TEAM!
